They've scored 4 goals in each of the last 4 games between the teams.

That's unreal. Liverpool -2 is printing money.

It doesn't matter as we will lose,we could put out fourteen men and still lose.

I know so many people going who don't support West Ham - just because they want to see Liverpool get beat.

I have to keep telling them - We shipped 4 against a team destined for relegation from League 1. This will be at the very minimum, a four goal loss

I never bet on West Ham either way, but if we could put out 12 men tonight, the ref was a West Ham fan, and you gave me a grand to bet on the result, I'd still go with Liverpool.

I don't think I've ever been less confident of a result.

____

exactly how i feel. went to anfield day one full of positivity and we know how that ended.
minimum of four goals shipped again tonight i think..

I was just watching some highlights of the 87-88 season and the self proclaimed best ever Scottish defender passing back and letting in Tony Cottee to score the equalizer 1-1 FT

Never, ever, ever give up on your team.
Except tomorrow.

Re: WHU team Vs Liverpool?
Pellegrini changed it up a bit after we lost the first four games and switched to a midfield 3 with Rice, Noble and Obiang. Results picked up for a short spell, including against top 6 sides.

Hoping he does the same tomorrow. Not that I expect us to get anything regardless of who he puts out.

Re: WHU team Vs Liverpool?
We are probably going look like every other team Pelegrini has put out

4 at the back
2 in the midfield
and four attacking player, 3-1 or 2-2

and probably a keeper.

Re: WHU team Vs Liverpool?
Until Pellegrini understands he does not have the mobility, physicality or work rate in his squad or should I say team ( we do not have a squad with 10 players being out for months) , to 2 up top and play 4 in midfield we will continue to struggle against any team that presses us, is physically strong or has a good work ethic.

Against Wimbledon and especially against Wolves, we couldn't compete and were overrun in the middle.

The footballing philosophy (and his "play like a big team" )is good for the long term but we do not have the players for Manuels' preferred 4-4-2 just now and trying to take the game to Liverpool tomorrow night with that approach, no Arnautovic, no Cresswell ( Arfur vs Salah) , no Nasri we could be suffer an extremely embarassing defeat. We will need to protect the flanks, keep the shape, deny them space and play on the counter. I will be surprised if we get anything with who is available but MP has to compromise surely pick a system and tactics based on who is available rather than doggedly sticking to a system that has failed for successive games.

A change in attitude would help from some too ( Obiang, Hernandez etc) .

--------------Fabianski
Zab Diop Ogbonna Arfur
Antonio Obiang Noble Anderson
---------------Snodgrass
--------------- Anyone but Carroll

We could also potentially try Diagana out wide and Antonio up top. We are forced into having to play Obiang and Arfur and Ogbonna. Hardly confidence inspiring.

Lets hope we have one of those games where the post is man of the match again

I’ve just read that Antonio has scored 4 goals in his last 6 games against Liverpool, is that right? If so the plodder gets a pick from me on that fact alone.

Would be good to give Diangana a go on the left then? I don’t suppose Pellegrini will see it like that...

Why when Diangana seems to be strongest on his left foot does he always play on the right

It's the bizarre modern day philosophy of allowing to players to cut inside on to your better foot which is fine if you are Eden Hazard but when you have Andy Carroll waiting in the middle for a cross it is counter productive. Used to feel a bit sorry for Matt Jarvis who "could" cross a ball but was always on the wrong wing!

No West Ham player has passed a fitness test since 1938 so probably best to expect that Cresswell & Arnie will sit out.
